Statements

CFCs have been widely used in refrigeration, air conditioning, packaging, insulation, and aerosol sprays. Because they do not break down in the lower atmosphere, CFCs rise into the upper atmosphere, where they damage the ozone layer. They are also a greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change.
