Statements

Refers to an increase in the average height of the ocean's surface. The two main causes are the melting of ice (glaciers and ice sheets) and the thermal expansion of seawater as it warms. This rise can result in coastal flooding, damage to infrastructure, and the loss of low-lying ecosystems. It can also lead to the displacement of communities and increased vulnerability to extreme weather events
